JPN W: Masayoshi Manabe Unveils Roster of 40 Players Ahead of 2023 National Team Season

The head coach of Japan’s women’s national volleyball team, Masayoshi Manabe, has revealed the names of the 40 players he has selected for the upcoming 2023 season. Among these players are 12 newcomers who will be making their debut on the team. The Volleyball Nations League 2023 and the Paris 2024 Olympic qualification tournament are the key events on the team’s agenda this year.

Thirteen of the 14 players who represented Japan at the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in the Netherlands and Poland last year have been included in the squad. Japan finished fifth in that tournament. The only player missing from the team is Mami Uchiseto, who played as libero.
