Prosecco DOC Imoco Volley’s upcoming season is set to benefit greatly from the addition of USA national team member Kahlia Lanier. The Arizona native and outside hitter will don jersey number 16, completing a formidable quartet of American players including Cook, Plummer, and recent addition, setter Bugg. This power move brings back memories of the 2015/16 season when the Panthers’ first championship was powered by a roster of four American players.
Born in Scottsdale on September 19, 1998, and standing 186 cm tall, Lanier is the daughter of the late Bob Lanier, an NBA legend who dominated the courts in the ’70s and ’80s. He was the first overall pick in the 1970 NBA draft and averaged 20.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game over his 14-season career.
In the previous Serie A season, Lanier distinguished herself as a key player for Bergamo, contributing significantly to the successful season. She’s now making waves in the VNL stages with Team USA, promising an exciting season for Imoco Volley fans.
