The Italian men’s volleyball team secured their third victory in the European Championship by defeating Serbia with a clean sweep of 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-21) at PalaBarton, witnessed by a crowd of 4,752 spectators.
Daniele Lavia, marking his 100th appearance for Italy, emerged as the top scorer with 13 points. Alessandro Michieletto contributed 12 points, Yuri Romano scored 11, and Russo added 10 points, which included 4 block points. The match was particularly special for Giannelli, who celebrated his 200th national appearance in his hometown, Perugia.
On the Serbian side, Aleksandar Atanasijevic and Petar Krsmanovic were the top scorers, each accumulating 9 points.
In another match of Pool A, Germany triumphed over Switzerland with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-21) victory.
