POL W: Vice-champions Budowlani narrowly avoid upset against Radomka

The vice-champions Grot Budowlani Łódź survived a two-hour marathon against E.LECLERC Radomka Radom in the last match of Round 4 of the 2019/20 Polish Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season.

 

Budowlani were losing 2-0 in sets to the team with the most defeats this season (6 after this match) Radomka but eventually won in the tie-break and reached 5-1 (13 points), which placed them at the third place in the 2019/20 Liga Siatkówki Kobiet regular season charts.

The end of the fourth set, which lasted for 45 minutes in total (!) turned out to be crucial. The visiting team of Radomka failed to end the match several times. Finally, it was 3-2 in the favor of the vice-champions, partially 22-25, 23-25, 25-16, 33-31 and 15-8. Ukrainian Anastasiia Kraiduba top-scored for Budowlani with 30 points, while Slovakian Jaroslava Pencová made 5 kill blocks. Azerbaijani Marharyta Azizova put down 22 points, including 5 kill blocks, for Radomka.
