TUR M: Ziraat complete one of 3 steps toward winning the title

The playoff finals of 2020/21 Turkish Men’s Volleyball Championship between Ziraat Bankkart and Fenerbahçe HDI Sigorta set off with a win of the former.

 

The regular-season winners Ziraat are one step closer to winning the title in the 2020/21 Turkish Men’s AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi. In Game 1 of the playoff finals, they recovered from 0-1 in sets against 2nd-seed Fenerbahçe and prevailed by a 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-19).

Dutch Wouter Ter Maat led the Ankara side with 27 points. His compatriot Maarten van Garderen set up 5 blocks. Cuban Salvador Hidalgo top-scored ‘The Yellow Canaries’ with 17 points.

The 2nd match of the final series will be played on April 15. The team who achieves 3 victories in the finals will be crowned as champions.
