Verona beat the French club by the same result in the 1st leg. The U.S. outside hitter Thomas Jaeschke topped SuperLega members with 16 points (4 aces, 74% reception – 19 digs, 1 error). The Slovenian Alen Pajenk added 4 kill blocks and 73% attack (8/11, blocked once). Jean Patry scored 20 points for Montpellier.
Ziraat Bankası Ankara from Turkey went through the same scenario in Belgium against Lindemans Aalst – lost first set, claimed the next three, partially 18-25, 30-28, 25-19, 25-19. The 1st leg also went to Ziraat (3-1). Vahit Emre Savaş tallied 19 points (4 kill blocks) for Ziraat, who will face Verona in the semis. Italian Oleg Antonov served 4 aces. Gert van Walle scored 35 points for Lindemans, while the Pole Adrian Staszewski made 78% reception (27 digs, 1 error).
