Finland’s LP SALO – the very first team from Finland and from any Nordic country to participate in the elite CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – organised a spectacular event to start their campaign in the world’s most prestigious club competition.

LP SALO was drawn last June in Pool C of the 2015 CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League – Women alongside Russia’s giant Dinamo MOSCOW, Italy’s Unendo Yamamay BUSTO ARSIZIO and Germany’s champions DRESDNER SC

LP SALO head coach Kari Raatikainen can’t wait for the matches to start:

We have done almost 100% of the things we had planned. Our main assets will be our courage and the unity and cohesion of this group. I want to be a good marketer for Finnish Volleyball and would like to support the management of our club who has been doing a great job to set all this up.”

Team captain Kaisa Jokinen added:

One dream comes true as we can play against some of the world’s top teams. We are all very excited and have been working very hard with this extra bit of motivation. We want to play more than just six matches in our Pool. Our main aim is to get a lot of fans to our home matches as we host the great teams that were drawn in our group.”
