Sesc Flamengo announced the hiring of Dominican outside hitter Peña. The player was a free agent and now has returned to play her fourth season with the Rio de Janeiro side. Last season, a 28-year-old player competed in Indonesia’s Jakarta Petarmina Energi.

Peña defended the colors of the Dominican Republic in the Tokyo Olympic Games and in the 2021 NORCECA Pan-American Cup, winning the title. This will be the second spell of Peña in Sesc Flamengo. She wore their jersey between the 2017 and 2020 seasons, being involved in taking the Brazilian Super Cup in 2017 and the Brazilian Cup in 2020. In that period, there was still no partnership between Sesc and Flamengo.
