The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) recently revealed updates regarding the women’s national team roster for the 2023 Pan-American Games in Santiago. Initially, 18 athletes playing in Brazil were called up, but now, four players will be absent from the competition. CBV announced that Kisy (Itambé Minas), Kenya (Osasco/São Cristóvão Saúde), Julia Kudiess (Itambé Minas), and Maira (Osasco/São Cristóvão Saúde) have been released from the roster due to requests from their respective clubs.
CBV expressed gratitude to the clubs for allowing their athletes to participate in the training sessions, despite scheduling challenges. With these changes, the team now consists of 15 players who will undergo training in Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro. The Pan-American Games limit the roster to 12 players for the competition.
The women’s volleyball competition in Santiago will run from October 21st to 26th. Paulo Coco, the assistant coach of José Roberto Guimarães, will lead the Brazilian team.
