For the fourth time in the club history, Sesi will fight for the title in Superliga. They made a little upset as they eliminated a higher seeded side, Sesc-RJ, in the 2017/18 semifinals by a 3-0 in the series.

Game 3, in which Sesi scored the fifth victory over Sesc this season, ended by a 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-23). Now, São Paulo team waits for the winner of the other semifinal series, in which EMS Taubaté Funvuc lead vs. Sada Cruzeiro with a 2-1, to find out who will be their rival for the gold medal.

The middle blockers duo Gustavo Bonatto „Gustavão“ and Lucas Saatkamp „Lucão“ scored 10 points apiece for Sesi with the latter making 75% attack (9/12). You will not see very often that two players in this position end up as the two best scorers on their team! Felipe Fonteles „Lipe“ recorded 79% reception (19 digs, 2 errors, 42% excellent).

Paulo Silva topped Sesc, who made a huge success by advancing to the playoff semifinals knowing the fact they were Superliga newcomers, with 17 points.
