The women’s national team of Switzerland received good news: Because the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) is excluding Russia from EuroVolley 2023 due to the political situation, the team of the Central European nation is now moving up. Since the Swiss Women finished the European Championship qualification this year as the best third in their group, their ranking allowed them to take the field in the continental event. The fact that both of the country’s national teams secured slots in the EuroVolley next summer is historic for Swiss volleyball.

The Women’s European Championship 2023 will take place from August 15 to September 3 in Belgium, Italy, Germany, and Estonia. The men’s tournament Finals are to be held from August 28 to September 16 in Italy, North Macedonia, Israel, and Bulgaria.
