On November 15, the Drawing of Lots Ceremony for EUROVOLLEY POLAND 2017 will be held at Juliusz Slowacki Theatre in Krakow, Poland where hosts Poland and the other 15 participating teams will get to know who they are going to face in the pool stage of the championship.

The DoL will start at 8:30 PM local time and will be broadcasted live by Polsat Sport News. Starting from 8:00 PM, Polsat Sport experts and former members of the Polish national team will begin to consider and analyse possible configurations and scenarios.

EUROVOLLEY POLAND 2017 will be played from August 23 till September 3 next year. Hosts Poland will be joined by the national teams of Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey.

The hosting National Federation has the privilege of choosing four teams to be seeded at the top of the four pools (A, B, C & D). The remaining 12 teams’ allocation will be determined in three draws, according to their position in the CEV ranking (as of August 22, 2016). Rules say that the two teams who played in the final match of the last edition of the European Championship (reigning champions France and silver medallists Slovenia) cannot meet in the group phase of the tournament. As a last part of the DoL, pools will be fixed with the four host cities.

A presentation of these four cities – Gdansk, Szczecin, Katowice and Krakow – will be an integral part of the ceremony, along with entertainment and artistic programme, brought to Volleyball fans by Art Colour Ballet and the bands Cugowscy, Red Lips and the Sound’n’Grace choir. The event will give a foretaste of next year’s biggest event in European Volleyball.
