Maliye Piyango SK Ankara beat the odds and stamped Bunge Ravenna on the road in the 1st leg of the 2018 CEV Men’s Volleyball Champions League semifinals.

The Turkish side Maliye Piyango played without a pressure against Ravenna and pulled out the best possible outcome from this – a straight-set win against the favorites, partially 25-21, 25-19, 25-23. The rematch is scheduled for March 21.

The Estonian Oliver Venno topped Maliye with 23 points (4 aces, 2 kill blocks). An Austrian Paul Buchegger scored 19 points for Ravenna.

The other semi-final went to the visitors as well. Olympiacos Piraeus swept the Russian Gazprom-Ugra Surgut by a 3-0 with 14 points from Bulgarian Todor Aleksiev. The Serbian Petar Krsmanović scored 12 points for Surgut.
