Greece is the first team who will play in the next stage of the Mediterranean Games. Today they scored the second win in Pool A and this time over Cyprus 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-12).
In Pool B, Bosnia & Herzegovina suffered the second defeat at the women’s competition and today Spain were better. They scored a 3-0 win (25-22, 25-16, 25-21) thanks to Jessica Rivero Marin (17 points) and Helia Gonzalez Fernandez (14).
Croatia opened competition in Pool C with straight win over Albania (25-21, 25-19, 25-19). Samanta Fabris was the leader with 23 points and she was the only player with double digits. On the other side Erblira Bici scored 16 points.
In Pool D Slovenia outplayed Algeria also with 3-0 (25-10, 2516, 25-10) and Ana Marija Vovk was the top scorer in the winning team with 12 points while Yasmine Abderrahimscored 12 points for Algeria.
* The formula of the competition is simple; the first two teams from all four groups will qualify to the quarterfinals. Women’s will play their ¼ Final matches on June 28 and teams from Groups A will be crossed with teams from Group B while teams from Group C and D will face in the matches for semifinals. The semifinals are scheduled for June 30 while the Final and match for the bronze medal for July 1.
