COUPE DE FRANCE W: RC Cannes and Beziers in the finals

RC Cannes and Beziers VB will play in the final of the French Cup 2018 for Women.

Tonight, RC Cannes defeated Le Cannet in the first semifinal in a tie-break (23-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-23, 15-11) although opponents showed a much better play. RC Cannes will fight for the trophy after one year of break.

In the history of the French Cup, RC Cannes won 19 trophies in the 23 finals. They scored the highest number of consecutive finals – 22 (from 1994 to 2015).

Their opponents in the match for the gold medal have never won the trophy but it will be the second finals for Beziers in a row.

This also will be their second finals in the history of the competition. 

In the second semifinals, Beziers defeated ASPTT Mulhouse also in five sets (25-23, 23-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-11).
