“I don’t like the World Cup and I’m not delighted with its formula, in which all teams play eleven games with each other. It’s only superficially fair, because those teams that immediately lose their chance for promotion after the first three or four meetings, then play for nothing. And their unpredictable performances can influence the outcome of the competition and the results of those who play constantly. For some reason they play one game play well and in the next terrible because the final result is no longer important to them,” Heynen stated for Polish website “Sportowe Fakty”.
Belgian expert added that instead of being excited, the World Cup consisted of a large number of matches played for nothing because only the medalists were unknown until the final day, but everything else was clear three rounds before the end.
