USC started well and led 8-6 ahead. Hana Cutura had four points in the early stages, Sina Fuchs was stable in receiving and also the block defused some of Stuttgart’s attempts.
But then three bad actions in a row, Stuttgart hurried away with a 8-1 run.
Nevertheless Axel Büring’s team braced themselves against the loss rate. Lonneke Sloetjes with three successful attacks, and Ines Bathen equalized to 20:20. But the comeback came to an abrupt end. They lost the first set 23:25.
The second set was even, end Munster saved four set points before losing 27:29.
In the third Munster was leading 16:13 but that was all. They started making more mistakes and lost 24:26.
“In the final stages of the sets we have unfortunately made easy mistakes. This has tipped the balance. This is bitter because we resigned from two competitions within one week” Axel Buring said.
