On Thursday the home heroines of AsystelCarnaghi VILLA CORTESE will be playing Turkey’s Eczacibasi VitrA ISTANBUL for the first round of the Playoffs 12 and everything is set in the outskirts of Milan for that clash against one of Europe’s Volleyball heavyweights.

“Last Sunday we qualified for the final four of the national cup after a real drama, doing so by claiming the golden set says head coach Gianni Caprara. “In that set we played with glowing hearts and showed all of our determination. We did change our attitude and approach but most of all the quality of our play. I am the mentor of a young but very talented group and believe in my players. Probably they do not have an impressive list of honors like some of the players that will be standing on the other side of the net for Eczacibasi, but I think they’re ready for that task. These matches with Eczacibasi are a very good opportunity for us to learn more and continue with our development as a group”.

VILLA CORTESE – currently ranked fourth in the standings of the national league – will be able to rely on the support of middle-blocker Raphaela Folie who is back in action after nursing a slight injury.
