The European champions Novara recovered from a heavy defeat against Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio last weekend, beat 4th placed Scandicci in a derby of Round 18 of the 2019/20 Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile regular season and firmed themselves in 3rd place: 3-1 (25-10, 25-16, 26-28, 25-13). Novara had as many as 5 players in double digits in scoring, led by Serbian Jovana Brakočević Canzian (18 points). The captain Cristina Chirichella made 7 kill blocks. Serbian Stefana Veljković made 71% attack (10/14), while Stefania Sansonna had 80% reception (25 digs, 76% perfect). Elena Pietrini scored 13 points for Scandicci.
The leaders Imoco Volley Conegliano recorded 8th successive win in Serie A, 14th successive win including all competitions. They swept Zanetti Bergamo on the road despite playing without Egonu and Sylla (at rest).
Busto struggled a bit against Bartoccini Fortinfissi Perugia (3-1) but remained in pursuit of Imoco for the top spot in the regular season.
