Italian coach Marco Mencarelli: “We knew that facing Brazil would be our most difficult match but we hoped it wouldn’t be so difficult. In the first and the second set we grew but in the third, we didn’t have any response for them”.

“Azzurre” captain Martina Guiggi: “Today was a very difficult game for us. Brazil was very focused from the start. We know we have to grow more to arrive at this level. We tried our best in the second set but after that we didn’t have the balance to finish the game with the same mentality. So, I think we have to learn from this loss but not to think too much about it”.

Brazil coach Jose Roberto Guimaraes: “I’m very happy to win the match. We had a really good start in the first set but in the second we lost our concentration and aggressiveness. We got that back in the third set, especially with our service. We got 13 service points, which is good preparation for our games against Serbia and China”.

Brazil captain Fabiana Claudino: “At the beginning of the first set we were really good, especially on service and reception, but in the second set we lost our concentration, so we were lucky that we won it. In the third set, our service was good and that helped us to win”.
