ITA M: Piacenza presented two newcomers

Lorenzo Smerilli and Gazmend Husaj were presented in Piacenza to join the team for the coming season.

Luciano De Cecco has new teammates at Copra Elior Piacenza Volley. A new libero and an receiver were presented by Gabriel Cottarelli, general director of the company.

The team’s preparation has just begun but club leaders continue working on new incorporations. With the aim of reinforce the squad, Lorenzo Smerilli and Gazmend Husaj are already under the orders of Luca Monti in a few days.

The libero comes from Corigliano and also played in Macerata, Catania and Verona. He celebrated his arrival saying:

 “You cannot refuse an offer to be part of the Copra Elior. In these few weeks I found that the team is very strong and high-level. There are all the elements to get to the end of the competition in which we participate and to achieve important goals” said Smerilli.

Then, Husaj expressed his feelings too:

“This is my first experience in Italy. I had various offers from Turkey and France but I chose Piacenza because the potential of this team is great. We are at the beginning of the preparation and now we just wait for the arrival of Vettori, Kaliberda and Le Roux to test the true potential of this team. I will do everything possible to help the squad achieve its goals”. The Albanian player was born in Peje and played in several teams of Bahrain, Qatar, Macedonia and Switzerland. He’s also the key player of his National Team and came to Italy to show his best.” said Husaj.

The team is almost complete and Luciano will have some weeks to better understand his new partners until the beginning of the competition.
