A great night at the PalaVerde hall in Villorba in which Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano play as hosts – the new world record for consecutive wins by a women’s volleyball team is set!
With the 74th consecutive victory, Italy’s Prosecco Doc Imoco Volley Conegliano broke the world record of 73 wins in a row of Turkey’s VakıfBank (2012 – 2014) and put their name The Guinness World Records. Imoco did so in a highly-anticipated encounter of Round 8 of the 2021/22 Serie A1 against Delta Despar Trentino, at home, in front of more than 3,000 spectators. The last defeat of ‘The Panthers’ occurred on December 12, 2019, in Perugia – from there, they knew only of victories in any event in which they participated. Only this season, Imoco are at 9-0 in the league and given their quality, it is very likely they will further extend this new world record for consecutive wins.
Against Trentino, Paola Egonu and Loveth Omoruyi top-scored Imoco with 12 points apiece.
