ITA M: Best Setter and MVP of last EuroVolley in same club – Ropret poses as competition to Giannelli in Perugia

The current holders of the Italian Men’s Volleyball Cup, Sir Safety Conad Perugia, will have a duo of the best (on paper) European setters at the moment at their disposal in the 2022-23 season.

The Slovenia National Team member Gregor Ropret arrived at Perugia. The 33-year-old player completed the setter’s department in the ranks of the Italian vice-champions. Perugia thus closed the first purchase of the current summer transfer market, not counting the head coach Andrea Anastasi.

Ropret was awarded the best player in his role in the last EuroVolley. Given that the Perugia starter on the position of a setter, Simone Giannelli, was recognized MVP of the same tournament, it’s clear that the ’Block Devils’ will have a pair of the best setters, at least on a paper, in the continent in their roster. Ropret came to Perugia from France’s Cambrai.
