“Being a captain is an honor and a responsibility. Captain must be charismatic, you should’t break down in the most tense situations, should set an example. I like this part. I think it depends on my character. You need to help your teammates with just a glance, and I think I will manage.”
She adds: “We’ll have fun! Also because I think that with the fun come the results. And the guarantee is that those arriving in Bergamo always give 100% and this is already a guarantee for those who will be the new faces. I stayed because I believe in this project. I will give everything I can to the team without reducing my personal growth.“
On the last season, there is room for happy memories: “The victories are all beautiful, but the Scudetto 2011 was definitely the strongest emotion, because it came at the end of a long path, filled with good and bad things that happened”
Finally, Merlo gave her first message as the captain: “I’ll always be there, at any time. If my figure may be a reference, I am there. I will try to solve the problems as well as all the emotions that we will have.“
