Monica De Gennaro, a libero of the Italian Women’s Volleyball National Team and Imoco Volley Conegliano, with whom she extended the contract for 2017/18, got married to the head coach of the club, Daniele Santarelli (assistant coach last season).
Thus, Imoco officially got themselves the second player-coach spouse connection in two seasons as former coach Davide Mazzanti and Serena Ortolani were also in a marriage. Just like her husband, Ortolani parted ways with Imoco.
