The Panthers got a grip upon return of Polish star Michał Kubiak and achieved back-to-back win in Japanese V-League. As expected, Kubiak was the most deserving player for the win of his team with 15 points. Bosnian international Milan Pepić had 22 for Tokyo, who remained at the bottom of the standings, having only one triumph at their account.
Toray Arrows continued with a dream-season, closely following Panthers, after downing JTEKT Stings in a super-interesting match 3-2. Macedonian Nikola Gjorgiev had another high-level game with 32 points for the winning team. Bulgarian import Matey Kaziyski collected 34 points for the Stings, including six aces!
Japanese women’s champions Hisamitsu Springs deepened their crisis with a third consecutive loss! After two underdogs, Hisamitsu suffered defeat from the Top 6 contenders, JT Marvelous, 3-1 (25-18, 13-25, 25-17, 25-17). Led by the Thai international Onuma Sittirak (21 points), the Marvelous now leveled with a third-placed Hisamitsu on the table, both having 10-7. Rika Nomoto had 17 points in Hisamitsu.
In a derby between the two top teams in the V-League, leaders NEC Red Rockets beat Hitachi Rivale 3-2, extending their winning streak to nine games. Bulgarian Emiliya Nikolova and Haruyo Shimamura highlighted the Red Rockets with 17 points each. Hisae Watanabe noted 33 for Hitachi.
