NORCECA W: USA defeated Canada, Mexico and Dominican Republic still undefeated

After the second day at the NORCECA Continental Championship, Mexico and the Dominican Republic are still undefeated, while the USA achieved first victory.

In the first game of the day, Dominican Republic defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 (25-5, 25-17, 25-12) for their second victory. Bethania De La Cruz led the Dominican Republic with 11 points and Madeline Guillen added 10. Krystle Esdelle was the top scorer of Trinidad and Tobago with 5 points.

The United States beat Canada 3-2 (25-17, 15-25, 19-25, 25-15, 15-8). Kara Bejema was the top scorer for the USA with 14 points, while Danielle Cuttino and Lindsay Stalzer added 12 points each. Kiera Van Ryk of Canada was the top scorer of the match with 21 points, while Vicky Savard contributed with 12.

The hosts Mexico beat Costa Rica 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-21) and secured the second victory and maintained a perfect record without defeat.

Mexican Andrea Rangel led all scorers with 14 points and Samantha Bricio added 9. Tatiana Sayles with 11 points was Costa Rica’s top scorer.
