Mexico started the NORCECA Men’s Final Six with a stunning 3–2 comeback win over the United States (22–25, 21–25, 25–19, 25–22, 15–11).

After dropping the first two sets, Mexico found its rhythm, led by Ridl Alexis Garay, who tallied 24 points. The U.S. led in attacks and blocks, but Mexico’s strong serving and cleaner play proved decisive in the final sets.
“We began strong, but Mexico improved a lot,” said U.S. captain Sebastiano Sani.
“Our serve made the difference,” added Mexico’s Yasutaka Sanay.
In other matches, Canada cruised past Suriname 3–0 (25–13, 25–18, 25–16), with Liam Pauls, Ethan Baraniuk, and Thomas Frieses each scoring 12 points. Puerto Rico closed the opening day by edging the Dominican Republic 3–2 (25–23, 25–19, 19–25, 26–28, 15–7).
The week-long tournament runs from October 6–12 in Ponce, featuring six national teams.
