CAVB M: Cape Verde take gold in Pool A World Championship qualifier

Host Cape Verde took gold at the men's Pool B African qualifier for the 2014 FIVB World Championship held at Pavihao Vana Dwart Hall in Praia, Cape Verde on Sunday following their magnificent victory against the experienced Senegal team in a thrilling tiebreaker. Cape Verde won their final match against Senegal 3-2 (25-20, 18-25, 20-25, 25-22, 17-15) in front of 1,200 excited spectators.

The winners improved their win-loss ratio in the three nation tournament to 2-0, while Senegal dropped to 1-1 but both teams secured tickets to the second round, which is the zonal phase of the qualifier to be held in October and November 2013.
