The awards – placed under the authority of the “International Mecenate Award Association” – were established back in 1994 with the goal to award personalities as well as national and international sports institutions that have stood out for their performance and behavior.
The “International Fair Play Mecenate Awards” focus primarily on “fair play” as universal notion and bridge linking sport and civil society. Many different awards are presented every year in a gala organized by the local institutions in Arezzo, Tuscany.
“I feel honored to receive this award especially because it is not only about the performance you have displayed but also about the most important values in life such as fair play and loyalty” Lo Bianco said at the event held in Castiglion Fiorentino. “I believe that these values shall be promoted across the young generations and well understood by all of our youngsters. My duty is to pass these values on to all the fans that are following me and my career in Volleyball”.
