BALTIC LEAGUE W: Kohila is the best

Estonia’s KOHILA Vorkpalliklubi won the 2014 Baltic Women’s Volleyball Championship. The Final Eight tournament took place in Jonava, Lithuania from March 21 through 23.

The Baltic League is the most important volleyball competition for women in the Baltic area as the strongest teams from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia take part. 

In the 2013 / 2014 season twelve clubs played in two rounds, with the best eight teams (1 from Lithuania, 3 from Latvia, 4 from Estonia) qualifying for the finals in Jonava.

KOHILA claimed the top championship honors by defeating Latvia’s JELGAVA/LU by 3:1 (25-23, 26-24, 14-25, 27-25).  The only Lithuanian team qualifying among the Final Eight, Achema-KKSC JONAVA, won the bronze medals, defeating Latvia’s BABITE by 3:0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-18).
