CEV CL W: HAOK Mladost made a surprise by defeating CV Gran Canaria in Spain

In the second match of the first round of the CEV Champions League, HAOK Mladost Zagreb created a surprise by winning the match against hosts CV Gran Canaria 3-1 (18-25, 18-25, 25-21, 23-25).

Martina Samadan scored 14, Dinka Kulic, Mirta Freund and Natalia Tomic added 12 points each for HAOK Mladost Zagreb. Sulian Caridad Matienzo Linares of CV Gran Canaria  was the top scorer of the match with 16 points. The second match is scheduled for September 30, 2021 in Zagreb, Croatia.

Leonard Baric, head coach of Mladost Zagreb: “I am obviously happy with this victory but it is not finished yet. I hope that next week in Zagreb we can play at the very same level we showed here today as well. I expect the Spanish coach to make some changes and try something different to have a different result.”
