ACH Volley LJUBLJANA claimed this past Thursday Slovenia’s national league for the eighth consecutive season – and the ninth time since the country declared its independence from the former Yugoslavia 21 years ago – by scoring a splendid win over Calcit KAMNIK at “Tivoli” sports hall in Slovenia’s capital city. ACH Volley edged Calcit 3:1 at the end of a splendid match well helped by its home supporters to finish the Championship series after three matches and hence with an impeccable record.

The group has basically no opposition in Slovenia as ACH Volley did not lose any single match and only a very few sets in domestic competitions – national cup and league – in the past couple of years but still needs to be always determined and focused to prolong that amazing and unique winning streak.

As they did not have anything to lose, the guys of Calcit KAMNIK could start off relaxed while ACH Volley initially found it difficult to impose its pace but gradually asserted its supremacy to round out a memorable and immaculate season.

The cup was presented to ACH Volley captain Andrej Flajs by Mr. Matjaz Kovacic, President of the Slovenian Volleyball Federation, while club President Rasto Oderlap awarded all players as well as the coaching staff with yet another gold medal.

Special jerseys of ACH Volley LJUBLJANA were distributed to the young players of ACH Zmajček and ACH Junior in order to celebrate the most promising guys of the Volleyball school established under the umbrella of Slovenia’s dominant force in the sport.
