Unicaja Costa de Almería won their 12th championship title by closing the final series of the 2021/22 Superliga Masculina against Melilla Sport Capital at home. The Andalusians, 2nd-seed, prevailed over the top-seed in four sets of Game 3 in which Manuel Berenguel’s team came back from the set down to put an end to the finals with 3-0 in victories.

It was also a match in which Argentine Pablo Kukartsev proved why he was chosen MVP of the finals, scoring 25 points, while Jorge Fernández showed power on a serve (5 aces). Almería celebrated a little jubilee tonight – 25 years since they claimed their first league title.
