He dies at the age of 87 in his home in Tehran. Late Nemati will be remembered not only as a remarkable volleyball official, but also as a devotee of the sport.

Nemati dedicated more than 60 years of his life in several sport disciplines in his country in teaching and managerial positions.

He was the first ever Iranian international referee and first ever international refereeing instructor of FIVB from Iran, actively serving in many countries around the world.

Nemati is considered as a significant contributor to promotion of volleyball in Iran as he contributed to the successful implementation of Iran’s top national league in 1975, which is today known as the Iranian Super League.
