Sportal.bg writes that NORCECA Olympic Qualifier will bring us something brand new in volleyball! According to this source, we will have a different points system in future!
Here are the rules:
3-0: The winner gets 5 points, the loser gets 0 points.
3-1: The winner gets 4 points, the loser gets 1 point.
3:2: The winner gets 3 points, the loser gets 2 points.
Still, these rules are used only in NORCECA competitions at the moment. We are about to see if other Federations would consider
applying the same rules in their competitions.

NORCECA use that points format for a long time. Nothing is new. Moreover, points ratio is before sets ratio.
