Guatemalan captain Estefanie Bethancourth, Jessica Anleu and Maria Giron scored 11, 10 and 8 points respectively while on the Trinidadian side, Zahra Collins and Reann Young scored 12 and 11.
“As a first situation, I can say that I am glad for the performance of the team. I think we are doing things better and are taking solid steps for the development in our country”, said Guatemala’s coach Julio Domínguez.
“We relieve in the work we are doing, it is a good fifth place and we hope our volleyvall can improve more and more every time”, he added.
Trinidadian coach Ali Macsood stated: “We played a little bit better but one or two players could not play as good as they can. Now we expect to compete at the U20 tournament in Nicaragua with this younger team because of the development and to give them experience.”
