ECJ M: Six teams embark on a quest for European glory in Gdynia

Everything is ready for the start of the competition also in Gdynia, the second venue of this year’s CEV Junior Volleyball European Champs – Men where the medals will be at stake in some 10 days, and namely on September 2.

CEV Vice President and Jury President Philip Berben extended his warm welcome to the six delegations of the teams assigned by the DOL to Pool I, namely 2010 gold medalist Russia, the bronze medal winners of the past edition, Serbia, plus the hosts of Poland, Italy, Belgium and Finland. He summed up the results of the preliminary inquiries and shared some useful info for the days to come. Mr. Berben was joined by SRC President Fred Kröger who briefly discussed the application of the Volleyball rules by the international referees as well as the match protocol while ESOC Coordinator Igor Dolinsek added some more technical info. The host nation was represented by the Executive Director of the Championship, Wojciech Czayka.
The competition is set to start on Saturday afternoon with Serbia playing Belgium, Russia taking on Italy and Poland rounding out the program as the hosts play Finland.
