Italy – 82 foreigners (74 playing as foreigners)

Serie A1 is at the top of the list with no less than 82 foreign players in the 2016/17 season. It is important to mention that 74 of them play as foreigners, while 8 of them got an Italian citizenship so they are registered as domestic players.

Main stars: Aleksandar Atanasijević (Serbia), Earvin Ngapeth (France), Maxwell Holt (USA), Kevin Le Roux (France), Jenia Grebennikov (France), Micah Christenson (USA)…

Poland – 51 foreigners (50 playing as foreigners)

The second spot on this list belongs to PlusLiga. There will be 51 foreign players in 16 Polish teams in the 2016/17 season. Time will tell if that is too much or not.

Main stars: Benjamin Toniutti (France), Kevin Tillie (France), Gavin Schmitt (Canada), Marko Ivović (Serbia) Srećko Lisinac (Serbia), Nicolas Uriarte (Argentina)…

Germany – 41 foreigners

The 2016/17 campaign in Bundesliga should be very interesting, while there will be 41 foreigners playing for German clubs in the upcoming season.

Main stars: Paul Cerroll (Australia), Nikola Kovačević (Serbia)…

Russia – 18 foreigners (17 playing as foreigners)

Russian clubs are obviously trying to reduce the number of foreign players, as their national team suffered a failure at the last Olympic Games. There will be 18 foreigners in this league (1 of them will play as domestic player).

Man stars: Wilfredo Leon (Cuba), Matt Anderson (USA), Teodor Salparov (Bulgaria), Kawika Shoji (USA), Erik Shoji (USA)…

Japan – 8 foreigners

If only the Japanese clubs were allowed to have more foreigners per team, there would definitely be more of them in this country. Still, in the 2016/17 season, there will be a total number of 8 foreign players.

Main stars: Michal Kubiak (Panasonic Panthers), Matey Kaziyski (JTEKT Stings)…

Brazil – 4 foreigners

Brazilian Superliga will consist mostly of domestic players. Actually, there will be only 4 foreign players in the 2016/17 campaign, while it is also worth mentioning that 10 out of 12 players from Brazil men’s Olympic team will play for domestic clubs in the upcoming season.

Main stars: Yoandy Leal (Cuba), Robertlandy Simon (Cuba).
