The Belgian expert Heynen has extended the contract with the PZPS and will lead the men’s national team during the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games and the 2021 CEV EuroVolley, co-hosted by Poland, as the two top-priority tournaments next year. The current agreement between PZPS and Heynen is to expire in September this year but rescheduling of the Olympic Games to 2021 made it necessary to extend the contract, which will end in October next year, with the prominent expert.
Heynen became the head coach of the Poland Men in February 2018. In the first year of working with the team, he defended the world championship title and was awarded Best Coach by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV). In the previous season, he completed the most important task – promotion to the Olympics in Tokyo.
