“Our previous appearances in this elite competition were quite good for us” club President Roman Szczepan Kniter says. “We played well and fought until the end. I am convinced that our team will be doing its utmost to make it to the Playoffs once more. That is also why we have started re-building our team of course starting from the good players we had contracted last year. Our sponsors – the PGE Group, Trefl and the City of Sopot – are very happy to get that valuable exposure not only in the domestic competitions but also on the European stage. We can’t wait for the results of the DOL and promise we’ll be going for the best possible result” he adds.
Atom Trefl SOPOT made it to the Playoffs 12 this past season losing there to the eventual winner of the competition, Turkey’s heavyweight Vakifbank ISTANBUL. Two years ago the team lost to Azerbaijan’s Rabita BAKU in the 1/8 finals.
