Jastrzębski Węgiel has secured the championship title for the 2022/2023 season in Poland’s PlusLiga with an impressive performance in the grand final. They dominated Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, the previous champions, by allowing them to win just one set out of the three matches played.
In a convincing victory on Wednesday, Jastrzębski Węgiel won all three sets with scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-13. Stephen Boyer led the match with 15 points, followed by Trevor Clevenot with 13 and Jurij Gladyr with 12. For Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Łukasz Kaczmarek was the most effective player with 10 points. The two teams will have another chance to compete in ten days for the title of Champions League winners.
