Polish vice-champions Lotos Trefl Gdańsk downed one of the greatest disappointments so far in the national championship, AZS Częstochowa 3-1 (25-16, 20-25, 25-21, 25-20).
The MVP of the match was Trefl’s libero Piotr Gacek (79% of positive reception, 36% of perfect reception) while the best scorer in the winning team was Mateusz Mika with 18 points.
Bartłomiej Lipiński was the most efficient in Częstochowa with 21 points, but his team didn’t feel the joy of win yet.
Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle defeated MKS Będzin, another team that plays below expectations 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-18).
The dominance of a home side was evident in this match which is mostly seen in the first set when they allowed opponents to score 10 points only.
Belgian Sam Deroo was MVP and the best scorer of Zaksa with 14 points. Maciej Pawliński had eight in Będzin.
BBTS Bielsko-Biała caused big upset by beating, until this round, undefeated Jastrzębski Węgiel as visitors 3-2. Ukrainian Serhiy Kapelus with 21 points outscored Jastrzębski’s Israeli Alexander Shafranovich with 20.
