Lotos Trefl Gdansk will not play in European competitions in 2016/17 season! Despite they have secured a spot in the CEV Cup by finishing at the 4th place in PlusLiga, the club decided to withdraw from the European competition!
“The previous season showed us how demanding competition PlusLiga is. The Polish Championship may become even more intense if the officials decide to expand it by two more clubs. Therefore, we need to think about our future. Every decision we made is based on a long-term project,” said team head coach Andrea Anastasi for sportowefakty.wp.pl.
In the previous season Lotos Trefl Gdansk competed in the CEV Champions League and reached the Playoffs 12 stage in which they got eliminated by Zenit Kazan.
