After extensive discussions about Maksim Sapozhkov’s transfer to Dynamo Moscow, despite being under contract with Lokomotiv Novosibirsk, head coach Plamen Konstantinov has clarified the reasons behind the decision.
In an interview with Russian media, Konstantinov explained that the club had to make a tough choice between developing multiple young players or giving them the chance to grow elsewhere. With financial constraints and a crowded lineup, Lokomotiv couldn’t retain both Maksim Sapozhkov and Ilya Kazachenkov. Ultimately, Dynamo Moscow stepped in with a transfer offer that met both financial requirements and provided Sapozhkov with continued career development.
