Spiridonov
After speculations that Spiridonov could be punished by FIVB because of two incidents during the World Championship 2014, Russian Volleyball Federation backed up its player.
“Alexey Spiridonov will not be punished by the Russian Volleyball Federation. We will wait for the FIVB decision and then make further steps” said Stanislav Shevchenko, President of the Russian Volleyball Federation.
Recall that Spiridonov is accused of spitting at Polish fans, and of celebrating points with rude gestures (imitating firing from a rifle at the crowd).
