Although Vladimir Alekno stated that Zenit won’t go to Ankara to play against Halkbank in the fourth round of CEV Champions league group stage, the president of the Russian volleyball federation Stanislav Shevchenko has different information.
“Zenit will travel to Ankara to face Halkbank. Simply, we will travel to Ankara in January to play at Olympic qualifying tournament and I don’t see any problems with that. Turkey have assumed heightened security obligations and Zenit will travel there. And of course, our senior women’s national team will go to the Qualifying tournament that is going to be played in Ankara in January” confirms Shevchenko.
