His Rio 2016 dreams crushed as he is still injured!
Berezhko missed the whole World League 2016 due to an injury of Achilles tendon. He tried to recover for the Olympic Games but he won’t be playing in Rio after all.
“Unfortunately, Yuri didn’t have enough time to recover and he won’t be able to help the team at the Olympic Games in Brazil,” says general secretary of the Russian volleyball federation Alexander Yaremenko.
Recall that Butko also won’t play in Rio.
