“The top teams in Europe have their own junior training centers where they can train young players. That includes Italy, Poland, Belgium, Turkey… If we want a regular supply of good players in the first team, such centers are needed. We have the opportunity to do that. We just need to make a decision” Sergey Shlyapnikov said.
“The result is not bad, but definitely we want more. We did not have enough time to properly prepare. Our form grew during the tournament. We played our best matches against Poland, a very strong team” Russia’s junior coach said.
Russia‘s coach stressed the excellent organization of the European Championship: “All of the accommodation, transport, place of competition and training was top notch. Once again, we have seen how excellent organizers are the Poles.”
