BCY W: Turkey won crown of Balkan Champs

Turkey completed a perfect weekend in Balkan competitions as their U18 women’s national team won gold at the BVA Youth Championship in Kazanlak, Bulgaria only 24 hours after their countrywomen had topped the charts of the pre-youth competition in Ivanjica, Serbia.

The young Turks had already booked their gold medal on Saturday but performed strong also on the last day of the competition where they downed the home heroines of Bulgaria in three consecutive sets (25-22, 25-10, 25-22) to finish their campaign with an immaculate record.

Serbia and Bulgaria ended up in second and third place respectively. 

Turkey dropped only one set on their way to gold. On the last day of the five-team tournament Romania beat Greece by 3:0 (25-21, 27-25, 25-17) to claim fourth place.
